Ryan MacArthur, Research Specialist and Media Writer
Storytelling is in Ryan’s blood. Whether it’s behind the keyboard, on a microphone, or around the dinner table, he loves sharing stories with anyone and everyone. His first writing project was a 4th grade autobiography where he wrote embarrassing tales about his loved ones and expressed his undying passion for soccer.
After writing an award-winning non-fiction narrative series for Howler Magazine, “Tales from Non-League Football,” in 2014, Ryan ventured into the world of copywriting where he’s worked with a variety of clients ranging from travel and tourism organizations to the financial services and insurance industries.
He graduated with a Master’s in Fiction from the Mountainview Low-Residency M.F.A. and earned an M.A. in Scriptwriting from Bath Spa University in the United Kingdom.
The bulk of Ryan’s content writing experience comes from years spent creating social media content for major brands, including Ritz-Carlton, Farmers Insurance, Showplace Cinemas, Busch Gardens-Williamsburg, Visit Utah, and ChildFund International.
If Ryan isn’t working on his novel or trying out new jokes at an open mic, you’ll find him traveling with his lovely British wife, Ceilidh. They’ve been fortunate enough to visit every corner of England, the Caribbean, and parts of Central America. At this time, he has chosen to remain silent on the business of the Oxford comma.
